In partnership with Yavneh Day School, the JCC is proud to present STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) programs. Children will discover new ways of building through the Tinkering workshop and get technical with the Pre-robotics and Robotics labs. More info: firstname.lastname@example.org or 408.357.7497.
STEAM: Tinkering (K-1st Grade)
Students will be engaged in learning how things work, building or creating new artifacts, and exploring many scientific and engineering concepts. As good scientists, kids will keep a journal where they will draw and write about their discoveries! Following the engineering design process and the scientific method, kids will be doing projects that involve STEAM. More info: email@example.com or 408.357.7497.
STEAM: Jr. First Lego League (grades 2-3)
Jr. First Lego League is focused on building an interest in science and engineering in children. Junior First® Lego® is a hands on program designed to capture young children's curiosity and direct it toward discovering how science and technology impact the world around them. This program features a real-world challenge, to be explored through research, critical thinking and imagination. More info: firstname.lastname@example.org or 408.357.7497.
STEAM: First Lego League (grades 4-8)
Introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building Lego-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and instructors, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society. Students get to:
- Design, build, test and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology
- Apply real-world math and science concepts
- Research challenges facing today's scientists
- Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills
- Participate in tournaments and celebrations
