Welcome to Our Newest Tennis Pro
Please welcome the newest addition to our tennis department, tennis pro Brett Seargent of US Sports Coaching! Brett joined us in January 2016.
Brett's love of the game began when his father began to take him out to hit at the age of 13. He has played for 1972-76 Piedmont Hills Varsity Tennis in San Jose (Team Champions 1973-76 MHAL league, #1 Singles champion MHAL 1976) and 1977-78 Cabrillo Junior College in Aptos (Coast Conference Team Champions and Coast Conference Individual Doubles winner followed by the team winning state title)! He's taught adult community tennis classes and is certified with the USPTA tennis professional certification group. Additionally, he has coached at many clubs throughout Northern California--from the Menlo Circus Club in Atherton to the Almaden Valley Athletic Club in San Jose to Stanford University with player capital junior excellence tennis program. His last ranking was #2 Norcal men's 50 doubles and #34 nationally.
Missed classes: Students can make up missed classes within a session but cannot carry them over to the next session. No prorating unless approved by the Tennis Department. We will make every effort to make up sessions missed due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
Classes/times/fees published in the JCC Program Guide are subject to change.
If a minimum number of students is not met, classes may be cancelled and students will be offered classes on alternate days/times.
During the session, if there is ever a day when there is only one student, then he or she will be offered a private lesson lasting half the usual length of the class (for example, if the class is usually one hour, the private lesson would be half an hour). If there are only two students, the class will be shortened to a semi-private lesson of the appropriate length, at the instructor's discretion.
