Meet the Staff
JCC tennis professional David Cobabe (shown in photo), teaches group and private lessons for children, and private lessons for adults. He's here at the JCC on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. If you're a JCC member and you're new to the tennis program, you can schedule a complimentary 30-minute tennis evaluation with David -- he'll talk with you about your goals, evaluate your tennis level, and then schedule group or private lessons for you, and/or try to help you find a JCC tennis buddy.
We would also like to welcome our NEW Tennis Pro, Morgan Stone! Morgan has relocated back to the Bay Area after playing tennis for Boise State University. In addition to being our primary Camp Shalom Tennis coach, he is also offering adult and youth lessons and classes. Morgan played Division 1 tennis for Santa Clara University as well as Boise State University, and is currently studying Business Marketing at San Jose State. He has been playing competitive tennis since he was 6 years old, and coaching since he was 12. Morgan has taught tennis to all age ranges from 6-70. He is skilled in both technical & strategical teaching, grew up playing both USTA & ITF circuits, and is knowledgeable about recruiting process for aspiring college players. Morgan's philosophy is that he is a firm believer in being coached by someone who has been there. Whether you want to play recreational or competitive tennis, being coached by someone who has gone through the process and knows the ins and outs is the way to go.

Missed classes: Students can make up missed classes within a session but cannot carry them over to the next session. No prorating unless approved by the Tennis Department. We will make every effort to make up sessions missed due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
Classes/times/fees published in the JCC Program Guide are subject to change.
If a minimum number of students is not met, classes may be cancelled and students will be offered classes on alternate days/times.
During the session, if there is ever a day when there is only one student, then he or she will be offered a private lesson lasting half the usual length of the class (for example, if the class is usually one hour, the private lesson would be half an hour). If there are only two students, the class will be shortened to a semi-private lesson of the appropriate length, at the instructor's discretion.
For complete information on JCC tennis policies, see the JCC Tennis Department Policies and Procedures.
