Instructor highlight - Trevor Taylor
Trevor had retired from training for & competing in half ironman 70.3 events in 1997 after several years of training, trying, and failing to accomplish his qualifying goals. He had torn a hamstring muscle, and put his body through too much through his training. In 2014, Trevor eased back into the sport and aligned himself with a triathlon coach who has helped shape him into a formidable competitor at both the Olympic and Half Iron distances. This year, Trevor set his lifetime Ironman PR (personal record) of 4:46, placed 8th in his age group in the race in Canada in June, and has now qualified for a spot to compete in the World Championships in September 2017. In addition to his own hard work, and excellent coaching, Trevor credits much of his success and overall athletic ability to the yoga style he adopted 10 years ago which was a much softer form than he had previously practiced. Softening his practice and truly cultivating his energy was a total shift from the vigorous ashtanga style he had previously practiced. It took awhile to see the lasting results, and the positive effects this change in his yoga practice brought to his running and abilities as a competitor. Trevor enjoys dedicating time to his students, passing along this gift of a practice that has blessed him with incredible opportunities and overall health.
Our ongoing classes all appear on the Group Fitness Schedule and are complimentary for Full Center Members.
