Distinguished Speakers Series 2016-17

The Distinguished Speakers Series brings fascinating guests to the JCC for dinner and discussion.

  • Thursday, September 15th, 7:00pm - Covenant Winery dinner and wine tasting. With Jeff and Jodie Morgan, owners of Covenant Winery and authors of The Covenant Kitchen: Food and Wine for the New Jewish Table. Tickets are $54 JCC member/ $65 non-member. Includes technical wine tasting of kosher Covenant wines, and a kosher three course menu with recipes from the cookbook paired with Covenant wines. Cookbooks will be available for purchase at the event. Dinner will be catered by L'Chaim Foods.

  • Monday, October 10th, 7:00pm - Dinner and talk with Joyce Goldstein, author of The New Mediterranean Jewish Table.
    Tickets are $24 JCC member/  $36 non member. Dinner will feature recipes from the cookbook.  Cookbooks will be available for purchase at the event. 

  • Thursday, December 8th, 7:00pm - Dinner and talk with Michael Krasny, author of Let There be Laughter: A Treasury of Great Jewish Humor and What it All Means. Tickets are $18 JCC member / $24 non member. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

  • Sunday, February 19th, 7:00pm - Dinner and talk with Dr. Joel Hoffman, author of The Bible Doesn't Say That: 40 Biblical Mistranslations, Misconceptions, and Other Misunderstandings. Tickets are $24 JCC member/ $36 non member. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

  • Thursday, March 23rd, 7:00pm - Dr. Wendy Mogel, author of books about how to raise resilient children, including The Blessing of a Skinned Knee and The Blessing of a B-. (This event doesn't include dinner.) Tickets are $18, JCC members $10. JCC members get a special early bird price of $7 when you buy tickets online by 3/15.  Books will be available for purchase at the event.
