Jewish Musical Theater, Composers, and Lyricists
When you think of Jewish musical theater, you probably think of Fiddler on the Roof. But the Jewish legacy on Broadway goes far beyond that. Many of the leading lights of American musical theater are Jewish — from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Gershwin, Berlin, and Sondheim.
Join us for a trip down memory lane with instructor Stephen S. Gill. You’ll be entertained musically while learning some history about the composers and their music.
We've listed the composers who will be discussed on each date, and in some cases we've listed a few of their works to give you an idea of what they wrote.
