Hitbodedut: Solitude in the Wilderness

Date: March 2, 2014
Location:  Ano Nuevo State Park

Rabbi Nachman, one of the great Hasidic masters, used to go out into the woods each day to speak with God. Although his theology might not match our own, the practice of alone time in nature for spiritual practice can be a vehicle for connection to the world around us.

Join Rabbi James Greene, a TorahTrek Wilderness Guide, at Ano Nuevo State Park for a day of hitbodedut-- spiritual practice in nature.  We will spend the first part of the day engaged in movement and spiritual practices as a group, and then continue with some time on our own to engage with the world around us.

Participants in this program should be comfortable being alone, and should be able to walk on uneven terrain for moderate distances.

This program is free, but RSVP is required: 408.357.7411 or CJLL@svjcc.org.

Hitbodedut is part of the  APJCC's Teva To You (Nature To You) programs. All APJCC Teva To You programs are made possible, in part, by a generous grant from Heffernan Insurance Brokers.
